Tradescantia zebrina, commonly called the wandering jew or inch plant, is a fast-growing trailing plant with striking zebra-striped leaves in shimmering silver, green, and purple, with rich purple undersides. Native to Central America, it cascades beautifully from hanging baskets and shelves and roots easily, making it one of the simplest plants to propagate. It thrives in the warmth of Indian homes and grows vigorously with bright light, which intensifies its colours. Note that its sap can irritate skin and it is mildly toxic to pets. With bright light and regular pinching, it stays full, colourful, and lush.

Uses
A fast-growing trailing plant for hanging baskets, shelves, and tall pots. Its colourful cascading stems also work as quick ground cover outdoors.
Growing tips
It grows vigorously in India's warmth; give it bright light to keep the purple-silver stripes vivid, as low light fades the colour. Pinch stems regularly to prevent legginess and refresh tired plants from easy cuttings.
