Uses

A premier fragrant cut flower for vases and bouquets, and a charming climber for trellises, fences and balcony railings. The scent perfumes a whole patio, and frequent cutting keeps it blooming for months.

Growing tips

Soak seeds overnight, then sow 2 cm deep, spacing plants 15-20 cm apart at the base of a trellis or support. Germination takes 10-15 days in cool weather. Pinch the tips when seedlings are 10-15 cm tall to encourage branching, and guide the tendrils onto the support. Flowering begins about 70-90 days from sowing; pick blooms regularly and remove spent flowers to prolong the season.
