Chamaedorea elegans, the Parlor Palm, is a small, elegant indoor palm with delicate, feathery green fronds on slim stems, treasured for over a century as an easy houseplant. Native to the rainforests of Mexico and Guatemala, it tolerates low light, average humidity and tight pots, staying compact and tidy on tabletops, desks and shaded balconies in India. Slow-growing, pet-safe and forgiving, it is one of the best beginner palms, asking only for indirect light and moderate watering. Its soft, tropical foliage brings a calm, refined greenery to small indoor spaces with very little effort.
