Mexican Heather (Cuphea hyssopifolia), also called false heather, is a compact, evergreen mounding shrublet widely used as a ground cover and edging plant. It bears masses of tiny lavender, purple, pink, or white flowers almost continuously against fine, glossy green foliage, giving a soft, heather-like appearance. Reaching 30-60 cm tall and wide, it forms neat rounded mounds ideal for borders, low hedges, mass plantings, and containers. Easy to grow and tolerant of heat and humidity, it attracts bees and butterflies. In India it flowers nearly year-round in warm regions with full sun and regular watering, needing only light trimming to stay tidy.
