Growing tips

<p>Sow seeds 2-3 cm deep, 2-3 seeds per spot, spacing hills 45-60 cm apart, and provide a trellis for vining. Germination takes <strong>5-10 days</strong>. Cucumber is best <em>direct sown</em> as it dislikes root disturbance. Train vines upward, water consistently to avoid bitterness, and harvest fruit young from about 50-65 days for the best flavour.</p>

When should I sow cucumber seeds in India?
Sow from February-March for the summer crop and again in June-July with the monsoon. Warm soil above 20C gives the quickest, most reliable germination.
Why are my cucumbers turning bitter?
Bitterness is usually caused by irregular watering and heat stress. Keep the soil evenly moist, give light afternoon shade in extreme heat, and harvest fruits while young.
