Croton Zanzibar (Codiaeum variegatum 'Zanzibar') is a distinctive croton with very narrow, ribbon-like leaves that arch and cascade, giving the plant a soft, grassy texture. The slender foliage is streaked in green, gold, orange and red, creating a fountain of colour that contrasts beautifully with broad-leaved plants. Its fine form makes it a favourite for accent pots, balconies and tropical garden beds in India. Zanzibar needs bright light to keep its colours vivid and prefers warm, humid conditions with steady moisture. Like other crotons it resents cold draughts and sudden environmental change, but settles into a striking, full clump with consistent care.
