Uses

A versatile culinary herb snipped fresh over salads, soups, eggs, curries and dips for a delicate onion flavour. The edible flowers add colour to salads, and the plant's blooms attract pollinators to the garden.

Growing tips

Sow seeds 0.5 cm deep in clusters in pots or trays. Seeds germinate in 10-21 days (be patient). Thin to small clumps spaced 10-15 cm apart. Begin snipping leaves once clumps are 15 cm tall, about 60-80 days from sowing; always leave a few cm so they regrow. Divide established clumps every couple of years to keep them vigorous.
