Uses

<p>Grown almost entirely as an <strong>ornamental</strong> for its vivid, feathery plumes that brighten beds, borders and containers. The blooms also make excellent <em>cut and dried flowers</em> for indoor arrangements as they hold colour well.</p>

Growing tips

<p>Sow seeds <strong>just 0.5 cm deep</strong> (barely cover them) in seed trays or directly in pots. Space transplants <strong>20-30 cm apart</strong>. Seeds <strong>germinate in 7-14 days</strong> at warm temperatures (22-28°C). Transplant seedlings once they have 3-4 true leaves. Pinch early growth to encourage bushier plants. Expect the first <strong>blooms in about 8-10 weeks</strong> from sowing, continuing for several months.</p>
