Stake taller plants and pinch early flowers to build a strong frame. Green fruit is ready about 70-90 days after transplanting; leave on the plant longer to ripen to red or yellow.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best season to sow capsicum in India?
Sow in June-July for a monsoon-winter crop and in November-January for a spring crop in the plains. In hill areas, sow February-March. Capsicum dislikes extreme summer heat and frost.
How long does capsicum take to give fruit?
Green capsicum is ready about 70-90 days after transplanting. For red or yellow peppers, leave the fruit on the plant an extra 2-3 weeks to ripen fully.
