Wax begonia (Begonia semperflorens) is a compact, mound-forming annual that flowers almost non-stop in red, pink and white above glossy, rounded leaves of green or bronze. Tough and adaptable, it thrives in both sun and shade, making it one of the most versatile bedding and container plants. Its tidy habit suits edging, mass bedding, pots and balcony boxes, and it handles the warm, humid conditions of much of India better than many cool-season annuals. Low-maintenance and long-blooming, the wax begonia rewards minimal care with constant colour.
