Growing tips

Soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing to improve sprouting. Sow about 1-1.5 cm deep in a sandy-loam mix; germination is slow and uneven, taking 21-30 days or more. Grow seedlings in deep pots for the first year before transplanting to a sunny spot. Seedling trees usually begin bearing in 4-6 years; grafted plants fruit far sooner.
