Echinopsis oxygona, the Sea Urchin or Easter Lily Cactus, is a popular clustering globular cactus with a ribbed, urchin-like green body bearing short spines. Native to South America, it is treasured for its spectacular, large, fragrant trumpet-shaped flowers in soft pink to white that open from long tubes, often at night or early morning, and last a day or two. It offsets freely to form clumps and is one of the easiest cacti to bloom, even for beginners. Hardy, drought-tolerant and undemanding, it rewards a sunny windowsill or balcony with a dramatic seasonal flower display.
