Pachyveria scheideckeri - Succulent - 3" Pot

Pachyveria scheideckeri is a popular intergeneric hybrid succulent (a cross between Pachyphytum and Echeveria) that forms compact rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves coated in a fine powdery bloom. In good light the silvery blue-grey foliage takes on attractive pink and lavender tints at the tips, making it a favourite for collectors and beginners alike.

Hardy and forgiving, it thrives in the bright, dry conditions found across much of India and stores water in its swollen leaves, so it tolerates occasional neglect. It is well suited to balcony gardens, sunny windowsills and mixed succulent arrangements, and slowly offsets to form small clumps over time.

Growing tips

<p>In Indian summers, shift the plant to bright shade or filtered light during peak afternoon heat to prevent leaf scorch while keeping colour.</p><p>During the monsoon, move pots under cover, hold back watering and ensure free air movement; the biggest killer is excess water combined with humidity. Resume normal soak-and-dry watering once dry weather returns, and feed lightly through the cooler growing months.</p>
