Uses

An ornamental climber ideal for screening fences, pergolas, and balcony railings, providing quick shade and a daily flush of colourful blooms loved by bees and butterflies.

Growing tips

Nick or soak the hard-coated seeds overnight, then sow 1 cm deep, spacing plants 15-30 cm apart near a support. Seeds germinate in 7-14 days in warm soil. Direct sow where they are to climb, as they dislike root disturbance. Provide a trellis early; flowering begins about 8-10 weeks after sowing and continues for months.
